Our story

Raïm is the story of two wine enthusiasts. A story of love and passion for Catalonia and its distinct wines, the culture and tradition they come from.

Honoring the word “grape” in Catalan language, the project of Raïm starts with the vision of wine enthusiast and founder Oriol Bernad, who decided to exchange his native Barcelona for a cooler Latvian breeze.

Settled in Riga for over 5 years, Oriol started to experience his home country in a different way after each visit: the food, the culture, the people... All the little things he was once used to gained a new perspective to him.

And one of those things was wine.

Then one day a revelation came through: "I wish I could enjoy some of this wine in Riga", he told his mother during a meal. "Pack one bottle in your suitcase then", she answered.

The conclusion was simple: since he had to travel to Catalonia to enjoy his favorite wines, why not bringing them to Latvia instead?

Shortly after, Oriol joined forces with his wife and co-founder Nika Bernad, which gave him the final push to move forward with his surreal idea: to bring a piece of his native land to his new adopted one.

And this is how Raïm was born.

We offer a selection of premium wines from Catalonia to satisfy the most demanding palates, chosen to highlight the native grape varieties and characteristics of each terroir.
